Bald eagle perched in the valley

There was great excitement last week in the valley. Jimmy Kimbrell, as we all know him, is a very busy man who does home chores, church chores, and chores for anyone who needs him.
He lives on Old Mill Hill Road, really likes fishing, and likes to cook and eat fish, but he still takes time to get the bi-focals out and take a look at whatever is below him on the slopping hillsides.
Guess what was perched on top of a tall, leafless tree. A Bald Eagle, a grown one, with beautiful white feathers on its head and neck.
This eagle belongs to the falcon family, which is noted for their sharp vision and powerful wings.
The eagle was perched on top of the tree on the farm of Roscoe and Pauline Frazier, the last farm on the right leaving the valley and extending on by the Dry Creek Road to Smithville.
Jimmy was so excited that he called his better half, who was on her way down the hill. She stopped to get a good look, and later on sighted a second eagle. What excitement in our beautiful Dry Creek Valley.
Donnie and Deborah Agee and Jimmy and Judy Kimbrell were at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Nashville to be with the Catherine Ward Cox family. She passed away March 16.
Donald Owens officiated at the Celebration of Life at the Triune Baptist Church in Arrington March 19. Sympathy goes to the Cox family.
Dry Creek Community extends sincere sympathy to the family of Jack Pugh of Cannon County in their hour of sorrow. We remember this family when we taught at Gassaway Elementary School. May they rely on God to comfort and bless them in the loss of their loved one.
Do you love our state of Tennessee? Then you should be proud of the Tennessee men’s basketball team.
The coach has been very patient and kind and now they are one of the best in the NCAA Tournament. They defeated Mercer University of Georgia.
Congratulations go to this well coached top players. Good luck Tennessee Volunteers.
Dry Creek Baptist Church has nice friends and neighbors who once lived in the valley, love the valley and like to come back to their home church.

They love to hear him preach. He knows the Bible, and he preaches the Bible. Come visit with Dry Creek Baptist Church, we welcome you and appreciate your visit. the Bible will be preached here every Sunday.
Bobby and Mary Joines are doing very well this week. Bobby is eating more and showing some improvement. Bro. Donald Owens visited him Wednesday.
He also visited Harold Elrod at NHC in Smithville, Wednesday.
Several beautiful snow storms have fallen this Thursday. We saw our neighbors horses get excited at the mass of huge white snowflakes to the extent of a fast gallop into the open barn doors. Now the snow has gone and the sun is shinning brightly. What weather we are having. It is frigid.
Maybe one of the girls braved the weather to get a movie of the heavy snowstorms.
Our former neighbor, Jimmy Womack of Smithville, is feeling much better and visited Louise Frazier Wednesday. We are so glad that Jimmy is getting better and able to be at his farm today.
So glad to report that Helen Burt was able to be at church Sunday. Helen has been a shut-in for several weeks after surgery at St. Thomas. Best wishes go to her.
Lisa Cripps, Judy Kimbrell, and Rosa Young of Smithville did spring cleaning Tuesday at the home of Louise Frazier. Washing curtains, windows, dusting and other cleaning chores. thanks to them.
Many thanks to columnist, nice lady, and friend of many years, Shirley Lockhart Ingram, for her kind words in last weeks Amen Corner. Also thanks to Loyce Holcomb for a nice phone call and to everyone for your love and friendship.
We enjoyed seeing the three sets of twins, Edward and Edsel Frazier, Royce Odom and Loyce Holcomb and the Dakas twins.
The Frazier-Cripps family have twin boys, Justin and Jordan, and later on Matthew and Melody Cripps of Murfreesboro will be having twin boys, we think in July. Congratulations and our love and best wishes go to them.
