Dry Creek Flashes 11_15
Recent flood takes its toll

The flood in DeKalb County last Tuesday devastated many of the farmers around the creek areas. The water took down many fences, washed away round bales of hay, and moved equipment.

After the rains were over the farmers’ work started with cleanup, fencing and monitoring the hay fields for drift wood and debris that could ruin their equipment during the spring cutting. We are thankful everyone was safe and no lives were lost.

Last Sunday Justin and Tiffany Cripps dedicated their son Greyson to the Lord. This precious service was attended by Greyson’s grandparents, Jerald and Lisa Cripps and Jerry and LeeAnn Waggoner.

Greyson is a beautiful little toddler full of adventure in his eyes. We pray he will grow up to be a mighty warrior for the Lord.

We send get-well wishes out to Brenda Cantrell who had surgery last week. Continue to pray for Suzanne Williams, as she was back in the hospital last week for some breathing issues. Tony Thompson still needs your prayers as he is recovering from heart surgery. His dear wife Gail is watching over him during his recovery.

The 16th is the Great American Smoke-out. Cigarettes kill about 54 people every hour in the U.S. We hope many people find the strength to quit during this annual observance day.

The Prayer Breakfast will be at the County Complex on the 21st at 7a.m.

This a good time for all communities to fellowship together. We hope many can attend.

We were sad to hear of the passing of Ruth Pugh, a fellow educator for many years. Our prayers are with her dear family.

God’s love is always faithful and never falters, no matter what the circumstances or our own feelings.

Psalms 33: 20:  We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
