Kathy and Ricky Hendrix hosted a family gathering on Sunday. The meal was prepared by the Frazier sisters and enjoyed by all. The smaller children played together in the basement playroom while the adults went for short visits next door to check on your writer who remains sick. Those attending were the following: Jennifer Hendrix, Sawyer and Maggie, Jordan and Nicole Cripps, Christian and Claire, Kenny Edge all of Dry Creek, Lisa and Jerald Cripps of Liberty, Judy and Jimmy Kimbrell of Old Mill Hill, and David and Monica Reynolds, Levi and Molly of Alexandria, and Gail Frazier of AL.
Deborah and Buddy Fuson are staying with Louise Frazier during her illness. Many family, friends, and neighbors have called or visited. It has been a welcome sight to see their friendly faces and hear their voices. Each family member has learned from the home health providers how to complete the breathing treatments, strengthening exercises, and the many nursing requirement needed in order to recover. It is a hard task but one that must be done to regain strength. The visit to the doctor on Thursday received a good report with orders to continue progressing toward the goal of good health.
The snow in the valley came and went fast Wednesday. Birds have been scrambling for their food in the feeders. Animals have a struggle in these drastic cold temperatures. Kathy and Ricky Hendrix had a baby calf born on one of our coldest nights, but it is reported to be thriving. Farmers have to keep a watchful eye out for their animal’s food and water or any animals that might be birthing during winter months.
Today’s devotion was from Paul’s writings in Philippians: "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances."
The Lord is in control and that is such a comfort in uncertain times. Remember to love one another and treat others as you would like to be treated.
Life is so fragile and uncertain, so live each day to the fullest.
