Dry Creek Flashes
Gods creatures on a blanket of snow

The Dry Creek Valley is completely covered in ice and snow. Blanketed in white, the birds and deer are out scratching the ground in search of food. We are tucked in our easy chair with a warm cup of coffee, watching a red cardinal sneak around for a bite of Fluffy the cat’s food. Each cardinal has his feathers puffed out to protect them from the cold. We feed our birds with numerous bird feeders, but they still are natural hunters always looking for a food source to survive.

Mid-week church services have been canceled at the church, due to the treacherous road conditions. The temperatures will fall tonight to single digits. We plan on leaving our water running to keep it from freezing. The electricity did go off for a short while, but thanks to our neighbor reporting it quickly, it was back on in a short time. This was scary for folks that are sick and depend on oxygen machines, but we are thankful for each worker that braved the weather conditions to help others.

Get well wishes go out to Georgie Hawker our friend and neighbor who has been sick in the hospital.

Sunday dinner guest of Louise Frazier were the following: Jerald and Lisa Cripps of Liberty, Ricky and Kathy Hendrix, Jennifer Hendrix, Sawyer and Maggie, Jordan Cripps, Christian and Claire of Dry Creek, Jimmy Kimbrell of Old Mill Hill, and Henry and Natalie Frazier of Huntsville, AL. The group enjoyed family fellowship into the afternoon.

We appreciate the mail carriers braving the weather. Rusty Caplinger is faithful to deliver our mail with a warm smile.

Congratulations to DCHS Valedictorian Julia Little and Salutorian, Makalee Ruch. We wish these ladies continued success as they make educational decision concerning their future.
