Wednesday night Ryan Magness was to speak at Dry Creek Baptist Church concerning the Gideon Ministry; however the weather caused that to be put off. We know the Gideons to be dedicated men and their wives committed to serving God. The Gideons are always willing to tell others about Jesus through sharing personally or by providing Bibles and New Testaments all over the world. This is a ministry everyone can get involved in by giving your support through donations and prayers. We are thankful to the Gideons everywhere for their untiring efforts to partner with our churches in this ministry. We see the results of the Gideon’s Bible placement in hotels, hospitals, and doctor’s offices. May God continue to bless the Gideons.
The time changes this weekend. It’s time again to spring forward. We think it is always hard to get used to, but given time we all should adjust.
Matilda Earl is one of our sweet caregivers. This week she provided me with a much needed manicure. She is a soft spoken, loving young lady who spends a lot of her time caring for the shut-ins. We are thankful for her calling to love and help others.
The Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher’s Society met Tuesday in McMinnville. A silent auction was held as a fund raiser. The group enjoyed food and fellowship with our sisters from McMinnville. Those attending from DeKalb teachers were the following: Lisa Cripps, Lisa Bell, Michelle Burklow, Donna Emmons, and Susan Hinton. Susan led the group in an inspiring thought of the day and ended with a song.
We were saddened to hear of the Doyle Hendrix house burning. We remember when that house was built by Wilson and Allene (Cripps) Keith upon their return to live in DeKalb County from Whitehouse, TN. After Wilson’s death, Allene move and Doyle bought and remolded the house. It was reported to be a beautiful home. We send love and prayers to Doyle and his family.
Dr. Bruno Frazier of GA visited his grandmother, Louise Frazier Tuesday. Please continue to remember Bruno and his family after the death of their son Ryan. We were sorry to hear that David Terrell has been sick. Get well wishes go out to David for a quick recovery.
We have enjoyed all of our recent visitors, calls, and cards. We ventured out of the house this week to see our doctor in Alexandria. A good report was given by Dr. Jack Rhody.
Psalm 90:17 Let the beauty of the Lord be upon us.
