The weather is the topic

The weather continues to tease us with the possibility of a measurable snow. Once again, we are forecasted the possibility for the first of next week. We have hopes our great -grandchildren can experience the wonder of a BIG snow. For many it would be their first opportunity to have this experience.

Happy birthday wishes go out to our dear friend and neighbor, Gary Mullican. Jen Sherwood also celebrated a birthday with friends and family. Jen is our Leadership DeKalb instructor. She does a wonderful job scheduling and informing each class of leadership involvement areas in DeKalb County.

Rob and Nora Harvey spent time in Connecticut recently. They brought antique furniture from their family back to the valley. Nora and her granddaughter, Alma Rose, visited Louise Frazier this week.

Please continue to pray for Sue Willoughby’s sweet family

Valentine’s Day this past week was a wonderful time to show family and friends how much you love them. Many churches had Valentine’s Banquets. Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church had their annual Spaghetti/Lasagna Dinner, and Dry Creek Baptist had their annual Pizza Family Night. David Turner and Friends provided the program for Dry Creek Church. It was reported to be an enjoyable evening down at the church house by the adults and children. David is extremely talented in his art. We are thankful that God has blessed him with his ministry.

Life would be wonderful if we would all live by this scripture on love from 1Corinthians 13:4-8:

4. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.

5. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

6. It does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

7. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

8. Love never ends.
