Spring has sprung in the Dry Creek Valley. We are seeing the first blooms of the season. Around our house several new pots of flowers have been planted from the ones we managed to keep through the winter. The onion sets were planted in one container in hopes of a few green onions. There really is nothing like fresh garden vegetables. We look forward to a successful garden year for all the growers.
The farmers in our area are starting to get their hay equipment ready for another season. Parts, twine, oil, and fuel have to be purchased. The farmers have many expenses and a lot of hard labor for their product. We appreciate those that still farm the lands on Dry Creek. Just this week Pauline Frazier brought some turnip greens with her for a visit. Pauline and her husband, Roscoe, have worked their farm for many years.
We send prayers and get well wishes to Lori Webb and Helen Redmon.
Happy birthday wishes to Paul Tubbs, Angela Royalty, Billie Ann Gassaway, Jennifer Fuson Kennedy, David and Kim Foutch. Mainell and Joe Foutch hosted a delicious meal for David and Kim. Kim is our physical therapy nurse. She can sure give one a good workout. We appreciate the nurses that come into homes to care for the sick.
Jerald and Lisa Cripps visited Matt and Melody Cripps, Owen, Ledger and Kaius in Murfreesboro Friday night. Congratulations to Natalie and Henry Frazier of Huntsville, AL who celebrated their thirty-first anniversary. Gail Frazier of Florence, AL, and Rita Fuson-Frazier of Hermitage visited Louise Frazier. It was good to hear from Jimmy Womack and Betty Hale. Our community sends out a big happy birthday to Edward and Edsel Frazier. We send out sincere sympathy to Marlene Prichard and family in the death of her mother, Willette Scott. Sad news came to us of our sister- in –laws passing, Dean Keyt. Dean and her son moved away many years ago and local family had lost communication with her. She was laid to rest by her husband, Charles Keyt here in Smithville.
Psalm 4 NIV8: I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Get down your computer or a church hymnal and read over the words to Trust and Obey. Many of our old songs are a blessing just to revisit the words inspired to be written down many years ago.
