On Oct. 12 we attended a Customer Appreciation luncheon given for members who have been a part of DTC 50 years or more. Wow! This was a nice celebration from start to finish. The program started with welcoming remarks by Craig Gates, CEO, then beautiful music by Colby Mac Productions, and delicious food provided by Janice Kennamer. This was a good day to eat good food and visit with your friends at DTC. At our table we were happy to have Evelyn Bogle, Short Mt., and my guest, Gail Thompson, of Brush Creek. It was good to see Dorthy Tittsworth, Joel Dawes, Iva Dell Randolph of Smithville, Tom Duggin, Jenelle Pugh of Dowelltown, Gloria Hale, Hilda Oakley and husband from Liberty, Marvine Prichard, Judy Sandlin, Stacy Mullinax Martin, of Alexandria, and one of our students, Willie Turner and wife. Our community extends many thanks to DTC for the appreciation celebration and gift.
The sun is shining brightly in the valley this morning. Our purple elephant’s ear plants are large and beautiful. We dread the frost. The patio looks so sad without the color from beautiful flowers and fern greenery.
Many of our family members have enjoyed fall vacation. Jared and Jennifer Hendrix, Sawyer and Maggie Ann visited Florida. Jordan and Nicole Cripps, Christian and Claire, Jerald and Lisa Cripps, and Fay Adkins enjoyed a trip to Gatlinburg. Ms. Fay celebrated her birthday in the mountains at Johnny Rockets. She enjoyed a chocolate sundae and a birthday song provided by the employees. If you haven’t visited Gatlinburg lately it is a very busy place. The traffic was bumper to bumper and most motels were full. While there, the group enjoyed visiting the Aquarium and the Island area. The children really enjoyed the rides at the Island. Ricky and Kathy Hendrix are spending a few days in the mountains too. They all reported the trees just starting to turn red and orange hues.
We send sympathy to our neighbor’s, the Harvey’s, in the death of Lyle’s mother. The family has gone to Alabama for the service. Our love is with them.
Jordan and Nicole Cripps, Christian and Claire enjoyed a visit to Lucky Ladd Farm last week. The children enjoyed the animals, rides and pumpkin patch.
Last Sunday was a full house at the Frazier’s for lunch. Henry and Natalie Frazier of Alabama, and Jonathan and Lindsay Frazier, Lucy Ann of Knoxville all came home for a visit. We enjoyed seeing the family around the table. Sunday is always a good day to be with your family after church. We love and enjoy the blessings of our large family.
