After having been in DeKalb County Hospital in Smithville, we are happy to report that Mr. Bobby Joines is now at home recovering from an illness. He says that his condition is much improved, but that he is not over it. He is awaiting test results to know more about his illness and treatment.
Our prayers, love and best wishes go to Bobby for a complete recovery. He appreciated all his phone calls and other kindness shown to him.
Those visiting him while he was in the hospital were Ricky and Kathy Hendrix, Jim and Judy Kimbrell, Garry and Betty Mullican, Bobby and Brenda Crook, Jimmy Womack, Bob Earl Fuston, Jerry Adcock, Larry Summers, Jerry Scott, Debbie Young, Bro. Donald Owens, Helen Burt, Brenda Dyer, Christine Rohner and Ricky and Rita Johnson.
Bobby’s wife, Mary Joines, who is a stroke victim, had family members and several other ladies who saw to her physical needs while Bobby was in the hospital.
Dr. Hooper was his physician and a very good one, Bobby reported.
Mrs. Georgia Hawker underwent surgery Monday at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. We are happy to report that her surgery was successful. She has begun her recovery in Vanderbilt for three days and will be there until she is able to come home. Our prayers, love and special get-well wishes go to her.
Mrs. Ruth Vadagriff, who has been in DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville, is now at NHC for therapy.
Ruth has many friends in the Dry Creek Valley who love her and wish her well. Remember her in your prayers and also remember her daughter, Annette.
Ruth and her family lived in the valley for many years before moving to Liberty.
We are getting heavy rains this week. Farmers and gardeners appreciate the rains.
Dry Creek Baptist Church has lost one of its outstanding members, a dear friend, and dedicated Christian of Lebanon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving honorably in the Korean War. Mr. Stone, 76, died at his home on Nov. 18.
His funeral was at Ligon and Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon on Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Donald Owens was the officiating minister.
On Saturday evening, many members of Dry Creek Baptist Church were at Ligon and Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon to be with the Stone Family and to show their love and respect for Bro. Bobby.
He has entered his heavenly home where there is no pain or suffering, but all is joy and peace forever.
He is survived by his dear wife of 53 years, Mary Ann Stone; two sons, Wendell (Deborah) Stone and Michael (Michelle) Stone; four grandchildren; three brothers; a sister; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and a host of friends.
Dry Creek Community and Dry Creek Baptist Church extend sincere sympathy to Mary Ann Stone, Wendell and Michael Stone and families and other relatives and friends.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Dry Creek Baptist Church will miss his presence on Sunday morning. His physical body was weak, but his faith in God always sustained him.
It delighted Bro. Bobby to help serve the Lord’s Supper at Dry Creek Baptist Church. May God’s love and mercy comfort the Stone Family in the loss of its loved one.
