Dry Creek Flashes

Today, Tuesday, the sun is shinning over the beautiful Dry Creek Valley. The storms and harmful events of yesterday are now in the past. Life must go on regardless of the sinful society that we must face and endure as we journey on in this life.
The chilly wind blowing the purple lilac bush in the backyard, the chirping beautiful mocking bird on the patio outside the window remind us that God is in control and that justice will prevail. We must forgive and try to forget the bad things, which confronts us.
We as citizens of our own communities need to be aware of our surroundings, always striving for a knowledge of our neighbors and their needs.
We are very thankful for our kind neighbors in the Dry Creek Valley, who have shown their love and concerns for a family with special needs this week. May God protect and watch over these good people.
Dry Creek Community extends sincere sympathy to Louis and Christine Colombarni of Old Mill Hill Rd. in the death of Christine’s brother in Wis. Our prayers love and concerns are with this family in its time of sorrow. May God bless and comfort them in the loss of their brother.

Many people are on the prayer list this week. Some are sick and others need our prayers for various reasons.
Please remember these people in prayer: Bobby and Mary Joines, Charles Davis, James Hale, Donald and Audrey Owens, Mary Snow, the family of the late Quanita Haley, David Ferrell, Doris Ferrell Crook, Danny Agee, the Louise Frazier Family, an unnamed woman and three unamed men and Helen Burt.
Mrs. Lisa Cripps and Mrs. Louise Frazier attended the Estate Sale of Eston and Quanita Haley, April 2 on Green Hill Rd. We saw and talked with several people attending the sale, most of them we did not know. We met Mrs. Grace Bratcher of Pisgah Rd., who said that she enjoyed reading the “Dry Creek Flashes” in the Smithville Review each week. “Thanks” to Mrs. Bratcher and to all who read our column. We also saw and talked with the daughters of Quanita Davis Haley. They, too, read our column. Happy to know that many do read our home publication, The Smithville Review. We do appreciate everyone who enjoys “The Dry Creek Flashes”.
