Ninety-five years and going strong

We are so thankful for our recent rain which has fallen every day over the weekend and caused our grass to grow, and we pray that our plants and trees will live. The gardens have been saved, and we trust produce a good harvest this fall.
Thirty-one family members helped Louise Frazier celebrate and enjoy her 95th birthday at a well-liked eatery in Cookeville, Cheddars. It is true as well-liked columnist, Shirley Ingram, reported last week that the Frazier family were already seated when it began to storm and suddenly the lights went out. We waited well over an hour before we were told that they had no way to cook. Lisa Cripps called Cheddars. They were delighted to have the Frazier party. As always, the food was delicious.
Attending the celebration were Linn and Antha Linguarrd, Crossville; Bruno and Geri Frazier, Andrew and Ryan, Atlanta, Ga.; Todd, Barbara Gail Frazier-Nuckles, Sam, Chris, William, Florence, Ala.; James Keyt, Columbus, Ga.; Wayne and Deborah Fuson, Cabot, Ark.; Jennifer Kennedy, Taylor and Thomas, Fayetville, Ark.; Jim and Judy Kimbrell, Old Mill Hill; Ricky and Kathy Hendrix, Jared Hendrix, Dry Creek; Jerald and Lisa Cripps, Dismal Road; Justin Cripps, Smithville; Jordan and Nicole Cripps and Christian; Dry Creek; and Louise Frazier. Thanks to everyone for making this a wonderful day! The food, gifts and for just being with us were greatly appreciated. We have a lovely family, good citizens and one to be proud to own.
Lisa Cripps visited her mother, Louise Frazier, Tuesday.
Good to talk with Mary White of Smyrna. She had called me before to get the “low down” on making kraut. This was several weeks ago. We were just wondering if the kraut did okay. It was never failed for our family.
Thirty-eight “young at heart” members of Dry Creek Baptist Church went by bus to the Tennessee’s beautiful Ocoee River on a white water rafting trip on July 14.
They stopped at Chickamauga Park and enjoyed a picnic lunch. Some went to just look and enjoy the beauty and splendor of the Ocoee, but a large number teamed up in groups in canoes for a trip down the Ocoee River. All reported much fun and a day well spent. On their return trip the hungry group ate at Chick fil a.
Glad to see our yard man, Tommy Hooper. These rains have made our yard green. It looks nice now. Thanks to Tommy.
Mr. James Hale is not well this week. Our prayers are with the Hale family.
Bobby and Mary Joines are doing better this week. Glad to report good news.
