Donald and Cynthia Mullican, Jonathon and Matthew of Lebanon honored Garry and Betty Mullican with a 50th wedding anniversary celebration on Aug. 5 at the Dry Creek Baptist Fellowship Hall.
A stormy, rainy afternoon didn’t deter a estimated 200 relatives and friends who came to show their love for this nice couple who has been married 50 years.
We saw so many people who were born and reared in this beautiful valley and had been gone for years.
It was good to see and talk with Eugene Vandagriff and wife who live in Kentucky and attended. It was nice to see and talk with them. Wayne took his father, the late Walter Vandergriff, on many trips.
The Rev. and Mrs. Kenneth Tramel of Lebanon, both natives of the valley, came to honor their cousin.
Also present were Terry Cripps, Dwight Cripps, Jerald and Lisa Cripps and grandson, Christian.
Louise Vandergriff of Watertown, aunt of Betty Jane and widow of the late L.C. Vandergriff, came. Everyone enjoyed seeing Louise.
We also saw Tom and Georgia Cripps of Dismal Road.
Betty Jane said that she and Garry had no granddaughters, so Donald and Cynthia chose their sons to serve the cake and punch. Everyone agreed that Jonathon and Matthew did a good job.
We congratulate Garry and Betty Jane on their 50th wedding anniversary and wish for them good health and many more happy years together.
Jennifer Hendrix entertained with a surprise birthday party honoring her husband, Jared Hendrix, at the home of Roger and Kathy Hendrix, on Aug. 4. Jared was 30 on Aug. 1.
