We welcome the rain which has fallen Sunday through Wednesday in the Dry Creek Valley. The weather is a bit nippy outside, but most of us housewives are busy with abundant crops of pears and apples.
Georgia Hawker has been canning pears and making those good pear preserves.
Thanks to Mr. Tommy Hooper, Louise Frazier has canned some nice pineapple pears and made a few cans of the preserves.
Some people are still canning green beans. We have enjoyed some delicious cornfield green beans and okra from the garden of our neighbor, Ms. Jeanette France.
