After a heavy down pour of rain the evening before, all was peaceful and calm on Labor Day morning with an overcast sky and a forecast of more rain for the rest of the week.We are thankful for the rain, and we do need more rain.Most gardens are still producing green beans and peas.DeKalb County historian, Tommy Webb still raises the old time whip-o-will. They were my late husband’s favorite field pea. Mrs. Mary Cantrell grew them as long as she lived.It was good to see Bobby Joines at Dry Creek Baptist Church on Sunday morning.
