In the beautiful valley of Dry Creek this week, we would like to say that Sept. 11, 2001 has not been forgotten. We remember the heroes and victims of that day. We also remember those brave fire fighters who went into the burning buildings on a rescue mission. Many lost their lives and never lived to realize the results of their efforts.
On this year’s anniversary, Sept. 11, 2012, we say thank you to the heroes of that event which was tragic for our nation.
We are reminded of our own people who have spent much of their lifetime contributing to the Dry Creek Valley to make it a better place to live and enjoy God’s creation.
Our brave boys who were not afraid to go into the military and fight for our freedom, we remember them.
Two received the Silver Star, the highest honor, Joe Frazier and Gary Cripps, while many others received the Bronze Star and other distinguished medals. We thank you soldiers.
Other men and women served in many professions which in different ways made our community, county, state and our nation a place where citizens can enjoy a comfortable life, a good education, religious freedom and happiness.
Our motto is “Others”-Neighbors helping neighbors. And for our own county fire fighters, police department and to all who protect our community we say “thank you” and we truly appreciate your services.
