It’s hay harvesting time in the valley. This is a real busy time of the year for gardeners and farmers who still have hayfields and corn crops.
Have you noticed the Jared Hendrix hayfield? It is beautiful to look at. On top of the hill just opposite the hayfield is his, Jennifer and Sawyer Allen’s soon-to-be residence.
Jared is a pharmacist, a farmer, and a busy young man. He is also a builder and he has done a lot of work on his log house. He was taught to work in the hayfield at a very early age by his parents, Ricky and Kathy Hendrix.
It is good to like the work that you do in life.
We have four seasons and after spring comes summer, which is about here.
It will be in the 80s for several days and then warmer weather will be here.
We like spring and summer for all the new vegetation and green pastures.
New gardens can be seen in the valley. For us, it is tomato and pepper plants growing in large pots. That’s okay and we are proud to have them for the summer months.
People celebrating birthdays in June are Betty Jane Mullican, June 10; Kathy Hendrix and Tommy Wilson, June 14; Georgia Hawker, June 23; and Kenny Edge and D.Y. Young, June 25. Congratulations to all who have birthdays in June.

Have you noticed the beautiful roses in the flower garden at Dry Creek Baptist Church? They are just so beautiful. We guess at their peek.
The deep red roses are in full bloom. There are shades of red and pink planted around them so you have a variety.
Edward and Edsel Frazier, well-known Smithville nurserymen, brought the plants and set the flower garden several years ago. The Fraziers are natives to the valley that they love and hold dear.
There was no charge to the church. We miss them at Dry Creek Baptist, but they visit often.
Dry Creek Baptist Church events are on June 30, Homecoming with former pastor Bro. Carl Smith preaching, then at noon dinner will be served; July 2, trip to the Amish country, bus leaves at 8 a.m. and the produce truck will be going; July 3, the annual fish fry; and July 7 a patriotic service, celebrating America’s birthday at 5 p.m.
The thief cometh not, but to steal, and to kill and destroy: I am come that they might have life, and they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10).
