Sorry to read of the death of Mrs. Geraldine Dover Sherrell of Bradyville. Geraldine attended Dry Creek Baptist Church with the late Mrs. Audrey Frazier when she was her neighbor living in the Womack House in Smithville. She was the step-mother of Estille Ferrell. Our sincere sympathy goes to her family and friends. May God be with them in the loss of their loved one.
We are already getting birthday wishes, calls and cards from relatives and friends. It is wonderful that there are many good people in our county who really care about others.
Many thanks go to Loyce Holcomb and Jayma for our first birthday card. So nice of these Smithville friends remembering me on my 96th birthday, which is on July 2.
Also thanks to Phyllis Sandlin for her call. Our brother James Keyt also called to say that due to health reasons and appointments, that he would not be up here for the July date but maybe later. James is recovering from colon cancer and doing well. So many people are victims of cancer.

On July 3 Dry Creek Baptist Church will be hosting its annual fish fry. Some avid fishermen from the church are so nice to do this once a year. Thank goodness for fishermen.
Then on July 7 at  11 a.m. the church will be having a patriotic service, celebrating the U.S.A.’s birthday. There will be music, flags, veterans in a parade, speeches and a patriotic sermon. At 5 p.m. the church will be serving hot dogs and banana splits in the fellowship hall.
Everyone is welcome at this country church, which has been serving you for your spiritual needs in the beautiful Dry Creek Valley.
Bro. Donald Owens welcomes everyone to all of these events. He has been the pastor since 2001.
