Here in the valley all is quiet, peaceful, calm and serene.
The wedding of Tiffany Waggoner and Justin Cripps, Saturday Aug. 24 at Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church, was a beautiful event. Attending from the valley were Jimmy and Judy Kimbrell, Jeanette France and Tim France, Louise Frazier, Roger and Kathy Hendrix; Jared and Jennifer Hendrix and Sawyer; Dwight Cripps and Jordon and Nicole Cripps, and Christian.
Dr. and Mrs. Bruno Frazier, of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Henry B. and Dr. Natalie Frazier Huntsville, Alabama spent Labor Day weekend at their summer homes in the valley. They were Sunday dinner guest with their grandmother Mrs. Louise Frazier.
Others enjoying a country dinner with the family members were Mr. and Mrs. David Reynolds and Levi, Alexandria; Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Kimbrell, and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hendrix, and Mrs. Michele Kent and Brandon and Elizabeth and Olivia Miller of Lascasses.
Ricky and Kathy Hendrix attended a birthday party at the home of Doyle and Faye Hendrix, for their sister Polly in Smithville Friday  evening.
Bro. Donald Owens visited Harold Elrod in  NHC Wednesday. Harold was glad to see Bro. Donald because he missed being there last week when he was visiting in Arkansas.
Special get-well wishes  go to Debbie O’Conner of Goodletsville who has recently had major surgery in a Nashville hospital. Her mother Helen Burt and sister Vicki Corley have been with her. Our prayers, love, and best wishes go to Debbie as she recovers.
Judy Kimbrell visited Georgia Hawker Sunday. Georgia is slowly improving from an illness and hospital stay in Lebanon. Remember her in your prayers.
Mr. amd Mrs. Jimmy Kimbrell were in St. Joseph to visit Mr. And Mrs. Steve Beard and to see Jimmy’s nephew, Michael Carter who is home after being in Agghanistan for a tour of duty. They enjoyed a delicious dinner and fellowship with his family. Michael is a career army soldier and goes wherever the U.S. Army needs him. We say thanks, Michael, for all your past service ans for what you will face in the future. We appreciate our troops and their families. May God watch our troops.
Bill and Catherine Cox visited Dry Creek Baptist Church Sunday evening services and performed a mini concert. Catherine was at the piano and did a wonderful job playing a series of gospel hymns as only she can play them. Her husband Bill was guest soloist singing many requested hymns. They are no strangers to the Dry Creek Baptist Church, and they always do a superb job.
Sept. at 4 p.m. music class. Anyone interested in learning to read music or learn more about music.
Sept. 22 -28 Salem Baptist Association trip to Belize in Central America. Please pray for this trip.
