Be careful of example we are setting for children

This week there seems to be confusion on every hand.  Outbursts of rage and disregard for rules are on every media outlet.  There seems to be arguments over everything.  We understand being passionate about a cause, but self-control does not need to be neglected.  The Bible teaches Jesus fought his cause by love and example.  Think what we are teaching our children.  They watch closely how we respond to issues and model by that example.  It is concerning to watch all the violence on TV and read about local battles over issues.  We pray peace and love over our land with God’s guidance.
We bought some peaches at Griffin’s Fruit Market and made a delicious pie Sunday with them.  It was the easiest pie to make, so I will share:  peel and slice 10 peaches, cook with a little water (up half way on peaches) and one cup of sugar or Splenda until tender about 10 mins on med/high, pour into a 9x13, get two regular pie crust in the freezer section (unthawed) and slice them into long sections, place them on top of the peaches, cook on 350 till brown and thick bubbles, then enjoy.  Our family really enjoys these old time ways of making fresh, in season, fruit pies.
Plum jelly and butter is still being canned at the Frazier household.   It soon will be apple canning time.  Apple butter, jelly and sauce will be made when the apples get in season.  The big problem with canning your own jellies and sweet pickles is the enormous amount of sugar it takes.  It is an enjoyable process and the eating is always good.
Get well wishes go out to Lou White who had knee surgery.  Continue to remember Margarete Jones, Phyllis Sandlin, and Nolan Turner in your prayers.
