Dry Creek Flashes
Thanksgiving just around the corner

October is almost gone, and we can look forward to November and its great holiday, “Thanksgiving.”
The leaves have not been too pretty this year. The dogwoods are a deep red, the sourwoods are pretty yellowish red, some maple trees are yellow and red, but most trees are late showing their colors.
It is reported that persimmons have fallen to the ground. We made persimmon jam several years ago. One person we know liked it. Rob Harvey called it delicious. We didn’t get a response from Nora.
Anyway we know that fall will soon be over and that einter will follow fall. Guess Tommy and Audrey Webb of Smithville will have a supply of Whip O Will Peas for einter. Have you seen the Ladybugs? We have been invaded.
After having a wonderful trip to Las Vegas, Nev. to visit Dr. and Mrs. Carroll Thomas, Mrs. Judy Kimbrell, Mrs. Kathy Hendrix, Mrs. Lisa Cripps, and their mother, Mrs. Louise frazier have returned home.
A very special get-well wish goes to Carolyn Williams of Smithville. She has had major surgery in DeKalb Community Hospital and is now recovering. Please remember this dear lady with a card or some kind deed during her time of need. Don’t forget to pray for Carolyn.
Dry Creek Community extends its sincere sympathy to the Miller and Randolph families in the death of a young mother, Amy Miller, of Smithville. Her grandmother Ivadell Randolph, has been a friend of the Frazier family for many years. It shows the living that God knows best and never does anything wrong. Amy had a physical body here, and now she has a glorified body with no pain. May God comfort all who knew and loved Amy. “To live is to die.” “To know her was to love her.”
A special get-well goes to Joe Dickey, Montecellio, Ark. who has been in the hospital but is now at home. He is the husband of Carolyn Owens of the Dry Creek Valley and brother-in-law to Bro. and Mrs. Donald Owens. Our prayers, love, and best wishes go to Joe.
