Leaving Las Vegas by air you have a full view of Hoover Dam to your left and you fly along the Grand Canyon for a great distance.
When the Frazier family went to the Grand Canyon many years ago the only Native American Tribe living down in the canyon was the Hopi. Today it is different. The Navaho and the Hopi tribes both live there.
We could have taken a trip down in the canyon on a mule. Today you can not ride the mule down in the canyon. The narrow path that the mules went down looked too dangerous but they say that they used mules because they are sure footed.
We do know that one DeKalb Countain rode a mule down in the canyon years ago. It was a brave lady, the late Ruth Webb of Smithville. She related that story to me when we worked together for Mr. Orville Hays in a government job giving commodities to the needy, such as white sheets, pillow cases, towels, etc. Our historian, Tommy Webb, probably knows the story since Ruth was his aunt.
A special lady, Mrs. Audrey Owens of Lebanon, celebrated her birthday on Nov. 4. Our love and best wishes go to her.
Another very special person in the Frazier family who will be celebrating his second birthday is our great-grandchild, Levi Reynolds of Alexandria, son of David and Monica Reynolds, and the only grandson of Judy and Jimmy Kimbrell. Levi attends day school in Alexandria two days a week. His birthday is Nov. 8.
Others having birthdays in November are Ben Franklin. He is retired and doing what he wants to do. One thing we know is that he loves salsa.
Richard Jones is a retired medical doctor. He takes care of Delores, his wife. He too loves salsa and lives in Smithville. Others include; Peggy Tramel, Nov. 16, Jimmy Puckett, Nov. 18, and Heath Miller, Nov.11.
Congratulations and happy birthday to all who have November birthdays.
The wind has been blowing today mostly out of the south. The patio looks bare since Lisare moved the dead flowers. Maybe we can find some winter pansies to plant in boxes.
Ted Edge and son Andy of Ardmore attended Dry Creek Baptist Church Sunday and were the dinner guests of Ted’s brother Kenny Edge. Everyone was glad to see Ted, who has recovered from a serious illness.
Having Sunday dinner at the home of Louise Frazier were Jim and Judy Kimbrell, Monica Reynolds and Levi, Jordon and Nicole Cripps and Christian, and Ricky and Kathy Hendrix.

Our community sends sincere sympathy to the families of Minnie Poss, Bessie Lee Atnip and Christine Prichard in their loss of loved ones.
