Dry Creek Flashes
Robins, Finches in January
Placeholder Image

Rain, wind and sunshine prevail in the Dry Creek valley. We are thankful for a little warmer weather.
The beautiful purple finches are seen every day on the Frazier farm. The shaggy deep-brown deer can be seen grazing on some hay that Ricky and Jared Hendrix failed to bail.
On Saturday afternoon our backyard was filled with robin’s looking for earthworms. Robins-yes it is unusual for these birds to be here in January. Don’t forget to feed our feathered friends during the cold weather.
Frances Frazier of Smithville is at her home recovering from an illness. We say hello to Frances and Edward Frazier this chilly morning. Glad to report that Frances will soon be done with her therapy. Our prayers, love, and best wishes go to this family.
Matilda, our neighbor, visited with Louise Frazier on rainy day Monday. They talked about and remembered their friend, the late Charles Elledge Davis, of Dowelltown.
Mrs. Lisa Cripps, Dismal Road, Liberty, Mrs., Monica Reynolds and Levi of Alexandria, and Mrs. Judy Kimbrell, of Old Mill Hill Road, visited Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Joines, Sunday afternoon.
Dr. and Mrs. Bruno Frazier of Georgia spent the weekend at their farmhouse here in the Valley. They visited his grandmother, Louise Frazier, Saturday.
Sunday dinner guests at the home of Louise Frazier were David and Monica Reynolds and Levi, Alexandria, Jim and Judy Kimbrell of Old Mill Hill Road, Jordon Cripps and Christian, Jerald and Lisa Cripps, Jennifer Hendrix and Sawyer Allen, and Ricky and Kathy Hendrix.
It was good talking to my neighbor Ruth White in her home in Dowelltown. Ruth had been in NHC in Smithville for several weeks. Glad to know she is able to be home. Her husband, James White, is in DeKalb Community Hospital receiving treatment due to a fall at his home. Our prayers, love, and best wishes go to James.
After spending several weeks with her daughter, Vickie Corley, Alexandria, Helen Burt is now at her home still recovering from heart surgery at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville to replace a valve. Helen is doing well, and we are happy for her to be able to return home. Remember her in your prayers, and neighbors, do a kind deed for Helen.
Good to talk with Nora Harvey. She is a shut-in due to an accident near her home. She reports to be much better from her fractured bones, but give her two to three more weeks to heal and she can return to her duties at Vanderbilt Hospital. This is her goal. Nora has been an RN at Vanderbilt for years and-we would like to add-a “good RN” who really cares about her patients. Our prayers, love and best wishes go to Nora for a full recovery.
Our church is still concerned about Kenny Rhody of Smithville, who has been at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville for several months. Our prayers, love, and special get-well wishes go to Kenny and his mother, June and family members. May God Bless this family.
