We say thank you to the fire department and to the volunteer fireman, Brian Williams, who installed 10-year battery operated fire alarms in many houses in the Dry Creek valley Saturday.
We appreciate the fire departments for applying for this grant to help provide these alarms.
Our community extends sincere sympathy to Bobby and Martha Melching and Gail Kirskey in the loss of baby Knox.
Dry Creek valley extends sincere sympathy to the family of Mattie Jo McGinnis, a sweet lady who lived at Smithville and worked with the DeKalb County School System in the Title 1,2, and 3 government programs.
The McGinnis family moved to the Frazier hollow in the Dry Creek valley in the early 1940s. Mattie Jo married Tom McGinnis. Her twin sisters are Georgia Cripps and Brownie Curtis.
May God comfort this family. To know Mattie Jo is to love her!
These three people celebrate birthdays in February; Monroe Florida, Feb. 5, Katrina Tramel Yost, Feb. 19, and Debbie O’Conner, Feb. 10.
Congratulations and happy birthday to all who celebrate in February.
Dry Creek Community and Dry Creek Baptist Church extend sincere sympathy to the family of Glen Faircloth, organist at Dry Creek Baptist Church, in the sudden death of Glen.
He had borne his long illness with patience, attending church and playing the organ. He and his wife, Cindy, loved their church family.
Glen has visited his earthly doctor for the last time. heavenly angels came to the doctor’s office for Glen to take his flight to his heavenly abode, leaving his musical talents behind, for a place where there is no cancer, no pain, no sorrow or wondering about his tomorrow, he closed his eyes and realized that the Great Physician would be in control forever and forever.
To live is to die; may God’s love and mercy comfort this family.
