The square around the courthouse in Smithville is back to normal. The city workers must have worked all night to get the town cleaned up and in tip top shape. It is like in a blink of an eye and it’s all gone until next year. The weather has been really hot and humid but there is rain in the forecast.

Prayers to the families that lost their homes due to fire. Several apartment buildings went up in flames and several others were severely burned to no repair. There are several ways to donate to these families in need several churches are collecting clothing, toiletries, diapers are much more for them.

The Alexandria Grandpa Fair of the south is going on right now until Saturday night. Go out and have some fun or eat and watch the shows. Plenty of entertainment will be going on at the fair.

Retirement is a funny thing, do you retire and just do all the things you want to do? Or do you find things to do to replace your job? I know people that has retired and just took another job maybe something different than they did before. Some work more hard while retired than they did at their job. Do you really have the freedom to do what you want to do when you retire? The thought or retiring is exciting but I think you must have a plan in place so you don’t overwork yourself.

Pleas pray for the families that have lost loved ones; the Lopez family and the family of Amanda Ervin.
