A University of Tennessee student has been named Fairest of the Fair as Destiny Danielle Franklin was coroneted Monday night at the Grandpa Fair of the South.

Franklin, 20, was crowned by 2018 Fairest of the Fair, Abigail Hope Taylor Monday night. She is the daughter of Jennifer and Charlie Ware of Smithville.

Franklin will represent the DeKalb County Fair in the state pageant. Meanwhile, she is working toward her master’s degree in Psychology and plans to teach elementary school and be a school child psychologist.

“I chose this career path because I love children and also in hopes of helping the people of future generations better understand themselves and each other so they can make our world a better place,” she said of her ambitions for the future.

When she is not studying in college, Franklin likes to play guitar, ride horses and go to animal shelter to play with the dogs.

Franklin also won Most Photogenic in the pageant.
