From a Cracked Pot
Are you listening?

Don't you hate it when someone doesn't listen to you … especially when it involves something that begins as a small issue and becomes a major ordeal? … I have had that experience lately on my job. A small software issue has evolved into a major headache that no one has bothered to correct because no one listened to me. … And I got mad.  … In fact, I saw red.
As I stood outside in my “calming spot,” I was fuming. I wouldn't have been surprised if steam began billowing out of my ears. I prayed, “Lord, why don't people just listen?” … And then it hit me like a ton of bricks. I felt as if the breath had been knocked from my lungs. … How often do we turn a deaf ear to what the Lord is trying to say to us? He begs us to let Him rule our life. He pleads with us to accept Him as Savior so that we can have life more abundantly. … But we don't listen. Perhaps we don't want to give up the life we know for a spiritually driven life. We don't want to give up pleasures of the flesh to a life of serving God. Unless we do, however, we will never know true peace or a life in heaven. “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? (Matt 16:25-26)”
The nation of Israel was blessed as no other before it because God had created His covenant with Abraham. As long as Israel obeyed God's commandments, they were blessed. But what happened when they slowly began turning from God's ways? They were conquered and destroyed. The same is happening in our nation. God has blessed us so immeasurably because we were conceived on His terms. We were One Nation Under God. Slowly, we have turned away from Him just as the nation of Israel did. However, repentance and redemption begin within us as individuals … each and every one of us. We have two options: either we continue to ignore God's call for repentance and redemption, while the world we knows continues to spiral downward; or we listen to His voice and allow Him to continue to bless our lives and nation.
My friends, it is time we kneel and repent to our Father. It is time to tell the world what Jesus has done for us, and what He can do for others. We stand on the edge of a knife, and time is running out. What will it take until we listen to His voice?
