Having children

There is nothing in the world like having a baby. It is a true miracle of life. Whether planned or not, when you have a child, the world tilts on its axis. You can't remember what you did before you had that baby. Everything in your life revolves around that child for the rest of your life.
As a child grows, you are proud of his accomplishments, and hurt when he is hurt. The most difficult challenge is letting that child grow in the adult he was meant to be. We want to give them advice and help them be better than we are ourselves. In adulthood, the hurts of our children are perhaps more intense. We can't put a band aid on a broken heart; we can't kiss away the hurt of a broken dream. We have to let them make their own mistakes and find the path their life must take on their own.
Just as we love our children more than we love ourselves, so does God love us. It's an infinite love that our finite minds sometimes can't comprehend. God sent His Son to die for our sins. Why? So that we could live with Him eternally. Just as that tiny baby born to you was created, so, too, were we created by God. We are God's children. Imagine how much it pains Him when we turn away from Him. His heart breaks when we don't talk to Him. He worries when we don't ask His advice, because He knows exactly what we should do. When we hurt, God hurts, too. He wants to wrap His arms around us and guide us to a safer path. However, much too often we don't allow Him. We have to make our own mistakes. As our Heavenly Father, he allows us that free will. He doesn't demand anything in return … only our love.
Just remember when we think no one else cares, God does. We are His special babies.
