It was awesome news - a new baby born to the world. When was he expected? Where would he make his first appearance? How would the first-time parents handle such attention? One thing was certain, however; everyone seemed to await the news with bated breath and great anticipation. No one knew the day it would happen; they only knew it would happen - the birth of a royal baby.
There was much to be done before the blessed event occurred. There had to be delegations chosen to make the royal announcement. Then there was the name he would be called. Of course, there was much speculation as to who he would resemble most. How different would his childhood be because of his lineage?
And, finally, the day arrived: A royal baby was born, and all of heaven rejoiced. It wasn't announced on Twitter or FaceBook; there were no television crews to record the birth of the Prince of Peace. Instead, angels appeared to shepherds, praising God for the birth of His Son.
He wasn't born in a hospital or even a castle. He was born in a stable, the only room available. His crib was a manger filled with hay. Yet, all of heaven rejoiced in the birth of God's Son. To commemorate the occasion, a bright star filled the dark of night. While both the angels and demons knew who this child was, it would be 30 years before the world would know His name … Jesus … Wonderful … Counselor … Mighty God … Everlasting Father … Prince of Peace.
While the whole world watched for the birth of the next monarch of England, how many know the true royalty born into this world 2,000 years ago? Through Jesus, Prince of Peace, we, too, can be royalty if we only accept Him as our savior. In accepting Christ, we become joint heirs with Him; we are royalty through His blood.
