Hundreds of DeKalb County students enjoyed STEAM night in the DeKalb County High School on Oct. 15.

Students ages pre-k through 8th grade students, along with their families, packed in the cafeteria to take part in Super Hero STEAM night. There was no lack of activities and games for the crowd. Superhero Spelling and Shapes, creating Superhero Slime, Superhero Static Electricity, information about Superhero guinea pigs and much more was provided by teachers from each of the five local schools.

In the Makerspace, Media Center, everyone enjoyed Spiderman Virtual Reality, Cardboard Construction, Augmented Reality Coloring and an Edna Mode Costume Factory.

The approach of grouping together science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics is important as these are disciplines used in everyday life. It encourages problem solving, creative and analytical thinking.
