Gracie had a haul of birthday cards
News from the Mountain

We may get some relief from this stifling heat by the first of next week.  I hope that rings true for us.

I finally got the tally on the amount of birthday cards our Gracie Bratcher received.  It was a grand total of forty cards.  That was quite a haul, Gracie.

Such a perfect morning sitting on the patio enjoying the quite with only a few birds up singing.  I always thank God for watching over me during the night and the food He provides for me.  He impresses me...not the world that is lost.  I want to honor Him each day in what I say and do.  This is something that comes naturally for me in traveling the narrow road...the one less traveled.

Started writing on the column now that I've had my Honey Nut Cheerios for breakfast.  This cereal claims to be good for your heart and to lower your cholesterol.  I'm for eating healthier foods.  Every now and then though I do have the bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy breakfast.  It's hard to go cold turkey on that kind of breakfast, but your health will prosper in the long run, and you'll start feeling better for it.

Hoping to get some mowing done across the road today.  It rained just enough yesterday afternoon to bring my mowing to a screeching halt.  More rain is in our forecast for today, so I'll just have to watch the skies.

Rick and Beverly Hubler doing well this Saturday.  Glad to let you know Ruth Brown and Jeff, her son, are feeling somewhat better. Sherry Gannon and Beverly Hubler stopped by this week as did Bryan Pitts, Connie Cantrell, Rex Pedigo and Russell Taylor.  They are all doing well and, as always, I'm glad they came by.

Let's keep praying for the following people:  Dusty Johnson, Mary Melton, Diane Evans, Rose Watts, Walter and Faye Ferrell, Joe Gunter, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the leaders of our country, and the families of Karen Taylor and Wanda Faye Byford in the loss of their dear loved ones.

It's certainly been a while since I've seen a deer in our back yard, so I was surprised when one appeared on Tuesday evening.  This was not the only deer I spotted roaming around this week.  A deer behind "Aubrey's" shop galloping at a fast pace before jumping a fence while I was mowing.

Received a phone call from Betty Grissom a few days ago.  We had a delightful conversation, and I was glad Betty called.  She likes the column.

Are you glad, like me, to be living in a free country?  I guess at times we take our freedom for granted.  We can voice our opinions and not be killed in the process.  That is not the case in so many countries.  God is still protecting us from our enemies.  He will not keep His hand upon us if we do not keep supporting Israel (His chosen people).  God will curse those that curse Israel.  Make no bones about it.  He means what He says.  I would add that if you don't like our country, by all means, just leave it.

Have a great day!

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  1 Thessalonians 5:18
