Watertown’s Charles Barrett holds he and late wife Betty’s favorite Jim Beam Whiskey decanters. All 1,879 decanters, which they collected over 40 years, make up the Granville Whiskey Decanter Museum, which will have its grand opening Saturday, May 1, during the town’s Cornbread & Moonshine Festival. Admission is $5, which covers all sites on the Granville Town Tour. The museum is open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday-Friday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. The kicker: Neither Charles nor Betty ever tasted a sip of bourbon whiskey. Betty’s favorite decanter was this model of the Space Shuttle, while Charles is partial to this bronze Rexall Patriot, one of only three made.
