I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I also hope everyone is having a Happy New Year! Do you stay up till midnight last night? Or did you sleep right through the fireworks and the ball dropping in New York? And are you having the traditional southern meal which consist of; black-eyed peas, hog jowl, turnip greens and cornbread? Well, I certainly will be having all the above plus a few more side dishes. I grew up eating this every year and so has my children and granddaughter. It is just too good to pass up. Of course with my meat allergy I will not be having the hog jowl, I will have to substitute that with turkey bacon, or chicken.
The New Year is when many people make resolutions of losing weight, quit smoking, exercise, save money just don’t do anything that is too far to reach. Make a list and set small goals that you know you can attain that will lead to bigger ones. Don’t set yourself up for a fall and get disgusted and quit. I know I have been there and done that. My goal is to enjoy life on a daily basis. Appreciate the things that I do have my family, my church family, friends and so much more. Enjoy yourself on this New Year Day! Remember share it with family.
Remember in prayer the family of Tom Meadows. Remember the sick and remember Loyce Odom as she goes for test on January 31. Please keep these people in your prayers.
Everyone have a blessed day.
