The parade got underway just past one,
leaving from the high school and traveling down Broad to the delight of
hundreds who had been patiently waiting for an hour along the road side. The
parade, led by Sheriff Patrick Ray made its noisy turn onto Congress where it
proceeded to Smithville Elementary, entertaining the students there. It then
wrapped itself around, the front passing the rear as it headed back up Congress
to Northside. It then returned, making the turn onto downtown, the scores of
entries navigating the jammed streets of historic downtown Smithville.

several more numbers before giving way to the cheerleading squad which
