Most homes have sparkly lights around their houses inside and out.
Last Friday the Searchers Class at First Methodist gathered at the remodeled home of Spencer and Faye Iverlett. Each brought a "dirty Santa gift.” Spencer received a fancy pair of Christmas shorts and was told if he wore them, that a big contribution would be made to the Sunday school class. Spencer was a good sport and did so!
Another Sunday school class at First Methodist, the Spares and Pairs, met at the home of Glenn and Paggy Hendrixson on Saturday evening. They had a good time just chatting.
Again, I didn't make it to the Elizabeth Chapel Singing Christmas Tree. Maybe next year.
My outstnading Christmas memory is my grandmother Lockhart coming to visit our home in Tullahoma She was an excellent seamstress and dressed all my old dolls in new dresses. All my dolls looked so dressed up.
I was blessed and invited to the 4 p.m. Cantata at Gainesboro UMC on Sunday evening. It was rewarding to see my old friends at the reception including Jean and Ann Hughes. I spent the night with Elaine Craighead at her condo in Cookeville.
Fay Fuqua directed a good Cantata at First Methodist on Sunday morning.
Everyone is invited to the Christmas Eve services, either at 3 p.m. or 6 p.m.
Let's pray for the families in Connecticut at this Christmas season. Amen
