In the Dry Creek Valley, the sun is shining brightly this Monday morning, and the temperature is likely to reach 100 degrees.
According to forecasts, this week will be very hot. Blackberry picking will soon be over, but there has been an abundant crop according to this dear little lady, Pauline Frazier, who has picked many, many gallons of the big luscious berries for her customers. We truly appreciate Pauline.
Gardeners are really busy harvesting squash, green beans, peas, corn and other vegetables.
Gardeners report that no one has nice tomatoes this year. We’ve had several planted early in tubs. We believe too much rain hindered the tomatoe crops.
Edward Frazier, Smithville, has many tomatoe plants for a late crop. He is an avid gardener, who has an abundance of vegetables and also apples and pears.
We send special get-well wishes to Mrs. Linda Fuston, who has been having tests at Baptist Community Hospital and remains at her home. Our prayers, love and concerns are for Linda to have better health. May God bless the Fuston Family.
Our neighbor, Ms. Jeanette France, had surgery, Tuesday, at DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville for a complete knee reconstruction. Her daughter, Tawaina Box of Franklin, is with her and reports that Jeanette is doing fine. Our prayers, love and best wishes go out to her for a complete recovery from her surgery.
It is reported that another neighbor, Bro. Bobby Colvert, is ill in St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Friends and neighbors in the Dry Creek Valley send best wishes to him.
It seems that there are many sick and shut-ins who need our prayers. May God bless them.
