Jimmy and Becky Womack of Smithville attended the morning ceremony of the Spring Commencement of Middle Tenn. State University. They were celebrating their 100 academic year at Murphy Athletic Center on May 7.
Their granddaughter, Catlin Leigh Rozell, graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mass Communication. Congratulations to Catlin, and we wish her success in her future years.
She has made two wonderful grandparents happy and proud. We are happy to report when our young people make good choices in life.
Many have birthdays this month. Our daughter, Peggy Thomas of Las Vegas, celebrated her birthday on May 5. She reported a happy birthday at home with her husband, Carroll. Our former neighbor, Jimmy Womack celebrated on May 7; Fred Brackette on May 1; Stephanie Crabtree, May 14; Dristian Puckett, May 24; Kaylee Braswell, May 25; Jack Vied, May 25; Helen Burt, May 24; Ray David Hare, May 29; and Regina Robinson, May 29. Congratulations to these and to all who have birthdays in May.
We say hello to Judy Sliger of Judy’s Antiques in Alexandria. It was nice talking to Judy. She, like most of us, flower lovers, was looking for more flowers to put in her yard.
Estille and I worked all morning on flowers for the patio. It is so nice to have warm weather and an abundance of beautiful summer flowers available this year. But, it can cost you’re if your not careful.
Having Mother’s Day Dinner with Mrs. Jim Cripps and family were Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Cripps, Mr. Brighman Ayers and Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Cripps.
Mr. Tim France and Ms. Jeanette France enjoyed Mother’s Day dinner, dining out.
Mrs. Tawana Box and her daughter visited her mother, Ms. Jeanette France on Mothers Day. Mr. Danny France visited her also. She enjoyed the day with her children.
Visiting Mrs. Louise Frazier on Mother’s Day were Mrs. Michele Kent, Elizabeth, Olivia and Brandon, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Kimbrell, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Cripps.
Mr. Justin Cripps of U.T. at Knoxville, spent the Mother’s Day weekend at home.
Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Cripps and Mr. Justin Cripps visited their grandmother, Mrs. Louise Frazier, Saturday evening.
Bro. Donald Owens is doing well. On May 5, Dr. Neeley removed his cast and stitches and put his foot in a boot, which he must wear for nine days.
For the past few weeks, Bro. Donald has been delivering great spiritual messages from a wheelchair and has done really well. But, we assure you he will be happy to be back on his own two feet. Our prayers, love, and best wishes continue to be with this man called from God to be his minister servant. God bless Bro. Donald.
His dear wife, Mrs. Audrey Owens, who has been ill for several weeks, is now able to be back in church. We pray that she will continue to improve. May God’s love and mercy be with her and give her good health.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bush and Mr. and Mrs. Derek Bush of Smithville were the Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Frazier. Pauline’s sister, Sally Johnson visited with the family.
An upcoming event at Dry Creek Baptist on June 11 is VBS and June 26 will be Homecoming and lunch at noon, with Connie Smith singing.
July 3 we will be celebrating U.S.A. Birthday Big Music Event at Dry Creek Baptist.
