The fourth of July arrived. People visited relatives, had cookouts, and enjoyed the holiday. When we think of the fourth of July, we think of blackberries, which are always ripe and ready to pick. We used to enjoy the annual blackberry picking. Now that we are older, we leave that up to the neighbor, Pauline Frazier. She picks gallons of the juicy berries.
July 2 meant another birthday for your writer. We would like to say a big “thank you” to everyone who came to see me, brought gifts, cooked food, sent cards, and helped make this day a wonderful birthday celebration.
A special thanks goes out to the people who took time to call on our birthday. Jane Vandagriff, Lucille Garrison, Linda Fuston, Jeanette France, Peggy F. Thomas, Charles Davis, and Marlene Prichard.
We especially enjoyed a visit on the evening of July 2, when Edward and Frances Frazier, Susan Hinton, and Edsel Frazier and their company, Tina Mainz, daughter of the late Jim Frazier of Dallas, Texas and her daughter, Taylor Mainz, Jenny Smith, daughter of Kristen Smith came by to visit.

We say hello and send special wishes to him. Another dear friend, Gail Cripps, celebrated on July 2; a McMinnville friend, Paulette Robinson, July 8; Danny Agee celebrated July 5; Deloris Jones, July 9; Doug Cripps July 13; and Deborah Agee, July 27. Congratulations and best wishes for many more happy birthdays to these wonderful people and to all who have birthdays in July.
Wayne Fuson and his wife, Deborah of Cabot, Ark. are here visiting her mother, Louise Frazier, and other relatives this week.
Henry and Natalie Frazier are having a nice dwelling built on their farm.
It’s harvesting time for those early gardeners. Lisa Cripps canned two cannings of those early half-runners for her mother, Louise Frazier, and three cannings of three day pickles.
Lisa had already canned several cannings of green beans for the Cripps family. Lisa and Jerald also have squash and are beginnig to have tomatoes.
Mrs. Phyllis Sandlin of Smithville visited Mrs. Louise Frazier, Monday. She was the overnight guest of Mrs. Charles Davis in Dowelltown on Monday and Tuesday.
On August 7-10, Dry Creek Baptist will be hosting their revival. The preacher will be Alton Scruggs and Kenny Barnett will be the pianist and they will have a song leader and singers from Cumberland Baptist Church and Beersheba Springs. Make plans to attend. Everyone is welcome, Bro. Donald Owen is the pastor.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)
