John and Pam Comer announce the betrothment of Cinthea Lee

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Cinthea Lee Comer to Eddie Wayne Ashford Jr. is being announced by the bride-elect’s parents, John and Pam Comer. The prospective bridegroom is the son of Kathy and Eddie W. Ashford Sr. of Smithville.
Miss Comer is the granddaughter of the late Capt. Virgil and Virginia Comer formerly of McMinnville, and Harold and the late Maxine Rigsby of Bone Cave.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Owen Ashford and Annie McNear, all of Watertown; and of the late Verble Pollard and Goldie Pollard of Smithville.
The bride-elect graduated with honors from Warren County High School in 2007, and attends Tennessee State University, Nashville. She will receive her bachelor’s degree in secondary English education in December, 2011 after completion of student teaching this fall. She is a member of the English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta and the 2010-2011 Ambassador for the International Student Exchange Program, TSU. She attended Aalborg University, in Aalborg, Denmark during 2009.
Her fiancé is a 2003 honors graduate of Dekalb County High School. He is enlisted in the United States Navy as a nuclear electrician's mate in 2004.
He attended Nuclear Field 'A' School, Field Power School and Prototype Training Unit prior to assignment to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln's reactor department. He graduated with distinction from both Nuclear Field 'A' School and Field Power School in which he took advanced courses in various subjects. The USS Abraham Lincoln was deployed in theater during the various Gulf and Afghanistan Wars. Before the end of his enlistment in February, 2010, he achieved the rank of E5 and received the Navy Achievement Medal. Hines Interests L.P. currently employs him as an operating engineer.
Bro. Jr. Ralph of Mt. Elim Baptist Church, Cinthea’s preacher of 22 years, will be conducting the ceremony at 6 o’clock in the evening of August 6  at Shellsford Baptist Church.
