Received the news of the passing of Peggy Scott are 71 of McMinnville. Donnie and Peggy lived just a short distance over in Warren County from me. Peggy quite a lady, a friend, and fellow classmate of mine. Please keep Peggy’s family in your prayers at this sad time in the loss of their dear loved one. Peggy’s funeral services was held Friday, December 4, 2020, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Chris Anderson and Bill Robertson officiating. Peggy was laid to rest in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. A sweet and kind person that will be missed by so many including me. Coming to my mind is what I often talk about in the column. Cherish your loved ones each and every day that you have them. The last time I saw Peggy was in Walmart in Smithville some time back. Granddaughter, Hattie was with her. Of course, it never crosses your mind that may be the last time you are I their presence so do enjoy those chance encounters of family and friends and take the time to share a good talk with them. You’ll be glad you did. God puts people in our lives to love and enjoy their company. Never take them for granted for someday God will want them back. Peggy you were a treasure, indeed. Love, Carol
Please keep in prayer: Rita Nokes, Charlie Mai Daniel, Jeanette Smithson, Helen Nixon, Talmage Young, Ethelene Pedigo, Rose Watts, and those families that have lost loved ones due to the coronavirus and those wild fires out West.
Let’s also be praying for the new leaders of our country.
This is a joyful time of the year in celebrating Jesus Christ’s birth and of His gift to all of mankind from eternal life in accepting Him as their Savior. If you’ve not accepted Jesus what better time could there be than now? Please don’t put it off we are not promised tomorrow.
