Smithville Elementary School will hold kindergarten open house on Thursday, April 19, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Parents of children who will attend Kindergarten during the 2012-2013 school year are encouraged to attend and meet your child’s teachers.Kindergarten pre-registration will be held the following day on Friday, April 20, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Children must be five years old by Sept. 30, 2012 to enroll.You are asked to bring your child, along with a copies of your child’s birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization record and proof of residence. (A copy of your utility bill will suffice as will any piece of mail with your name and address on it.) It is a requirement this year that all immunizations be up-to-date before a child may begin school. Also, you are ask to bring the completed information sheet with you if you have one. If not, they will be available for you.On the day of pre-registration, you will enter the front of Smithville Elementary School and be directed to the gymnasium where you will complete paperwork for your child.
