

Each year the Caney Fork Daughters of the American Revolution sponsor a Good Citizen for DeKalb County High School. The criteria for selecting the winner is a student who exemplifies dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. Miss Leah Brooke Davis, daughter of Kerry & Glenda Davis, was selected as the DAR Good Citizen for 2021 at DeKalb County High School. Leah has an impressive resume of activities, honors and awards for her high school career. First, she has a 4.0 grade point average. She was chosen as a 2020 American Legion Auxiliary Volunteer Girls State Delegate. She is a member of the DCHS ACT 21+Club, the National Society of Leadership and Success, the Rural Service Youth Tour Essay Winner, the DCHS Homecoming Queen for 2020, Class Favorite and she is the DCHS Class of 2021 Vice President. As a member of the Upper Helton Baptist Church, she helps with Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes and is an Assistant Sunday School Teacher. In the community, Leah is a “Big Sister in the Diabetes Awareness One on One” program where she uses her personal experience to counsel other children and teen-agers with diabetes. Her future plans are to pursue a college degree in Business Administration or Interior Design.
