Students of the DeKalb County Lego League proudly show-off their new t-shirts donated by Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital. The Lego League, hosted as an after school STEM program at Northside Elementary School, recently received t-shirts, along with sponsorship funds, from Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital. Funds donated will be used to purchase additional learning tools, replace broken or outdated items, and grow their collection of building blocks. This long-running partnership to support educational opportunities across the Upper Cumberland region goes back many years, having been the exclusive monetary supporter of this after school STEM program. The Lego League's mission is to engage students in healthy interaction and learning by encouraging team-building activities, interactive problem solving, and positive social interaction.

"Our hospital is always excited to support programs that encourage physical and emotional health in children, teens, and adults across our community," said Shan Burklow of Saint Thomas Health, "Our regional hospitals in the Upper Cumberland area are a vital partner, not only for the health and care of our patients, but for the improvement and continued growth of the local community. Saint Thomas Health, a part of Ascension, is actively invested in improving health services for our rural hospitals, along with sponsoring programs that benefit the residents of DeKalb County."
