I enjoyed the Christmas Market that is an event the Smithville Review has every year. We had a total of 24 booths this year. Each booth had something different and something for everyone. I always end up buying something for myself or a gift for someone else. It’s a good time and you always see people you know.
Angie and I was able to help a homeless man with warm clothing and blankets. We also received help from Warm Hearts that is a new outreach program that is in its beginning stages at Cumberland Presbyterian Church. I know we here in DeKalb County do not think about homeless people because that is just something we hear about and don’t see. Most people look for help from family or church family. We don’t drive down the highway and see people along side of the rode or in the park or hanging out outside of stores. But there are a few homeless people here that we were told about. The man we helped was going to Jackson County where he had family by the help of someone else here. May you always try to lend a helping hand.
Please remember these families in your prayers: the family of Jerry Johnson, Louie McDowell Family, the family of Joyce Johnson, the family of Glenda Staley.
Everyone have a blessed day.
