Well, we ask for it and we got the rain. I hear we are still short for the year. Colder weather is approaching us.
This coming Thursday night, December 15, 2016 will be Christmas around the Square. Starting at 5 p.m. you can go to Justin Potter Library and visit with the Park Rangers from Edgar Evins Park and their critters. Also there will be a special visit from Santa so bring your children and your camera to snap a picture or two. You may want one yourself.
Do you every get all your shopping done? I am done just need a few more things. But you are so tempted to buy more with all the sales going on. Now with the gifts bought, it is wrapping time. I enjoy wrapping gifts. This year I am trying to make bows on each present. I know buying them is easier, but I buy them and find them later all flat. So, I have bought tulle in different colors, and assorted ribbon. I wrapped about six gift with bows before church Sunday and I must say they look pretty good. I also help my granddaughter, Charlee make dough ornaments Sunday night. We had help from her mama, Lindsy, and her aunt Katie. But Chrlee done fine by herself as her help started making their own ornaments. The ornaments are so easy, 1 cup salt, 1 cup all-purpose flour and a half cup water more or less. Mix, roll, cut out with cookie cutter or use your child’s handprint as I did. You can let them air dry or bake at 200 degrees for a couple of hours and then you are ready to decorate, paint, or just write on them.
If you look for Me this Christmas
You won’t need a special star, I’m no longer just in Bethlehem, I’m right there where you are. You may not be aware of Me amid the celebrations. You’ll have to look beyond the stores and all the decorations. But if you take a moment from your list of things to do. And listen to your heart, you’ll find, I’m waiting there for you. You’re the one I want to be with, you’re the reason I came. And you’ll find Me in the stillness as I’m whispering your name. Love, Jesus
