News from the Mountain

This month will be gone in just a few days with March knocking at the door. Spring officially begins on March 20. We just about always have some cold spells every now and then even into April as spring is trying to lose the grip that winter is trying to hold on to. I’m ready for winter to be over the sooner the better. Also, I’m for this constant rain we keep having to come to an end, too. Enough is enough and too much of a good thing is not a good thing. A good two weeks of drying out would be nice. It does look like another wet year we may be in for.

I’ve got a slew of birthdays for March: Martha Parker, Ruth Brown, Crystal Gannon, Kathy Nokes, Patsy Nixon, Gerry Nokes, Rex Pedigo, Heather Underwood, Helen Nixon, Melba Nichols, Sepal Pedigo (my sister), Bryan Pitts, Burley Bogle, and Ashley Bequette.

Also please keep praying for the families of Samuel Wright, Faye Nokes, John Henry Thweatt, Betty Sue Chumbley, and Betty Sue Allen.

Individuals to keep praying for: Charlie Mai Daniel, Loyce Holcomb, Jeanette Smithson, Helen Nixon, Tim Howes, Ethelene Pedigo, and Dr. J.C. Wall.

Those buttercups got snow on them last week. The snow falling here on the mountain was so beautiful. I think we may have gotten two to maybe three inches of the white stuff. Everything here on the mountain had snow covering it except for the roads. Watching the snow fall from our patio doors with some big snowflakes getting my attention. I was wanting to take all of this in as we might not have any more snowfalls this winter. Wish we could have had a white Christmas. That would have made a lot of us extra happy.
