Though this year’s school year is not quite complete, registration for the 2016-17 kindergarten classes has already been scheduled.

Pre-registration for students who will turn five years-old on or before August 15, 2016 will be held at the Smithville Elementary gymnasium May 6 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

To enroll a child in the DeKalb County Kindergarten program, the following documents must be provided at time of registration:

Original birthday certificate (certified copy with the state seal, not the hospital copy or mother’s copy).

Current, up-to-date, physical examination and immunization record (These must be on a Tennessee Department of Health Certificate of Immunization, which can be obtained from your doctor’s office or the Health Department).

Proof of residency for DeKalb County such as a utility bill.

Each child will be tested on registration day.

Enrollment forms will be available at Smithville Elementary the day of registration or may be printed from the school’s web site at www.ses.dekalbschools.net. You will find the form online at the left of the home-page under “Forms.”
