Moody's goose

Hope everyone is doing okay and, of course staying as cool as possible with these hot temperatures we’re having to deal with on a daily basis.

I’m still laughing about this incident coming g back from Smithville the other day when I got behind this car with two guys in it and stayed back a normal distance. As I came by a friend of mines house, I saw her out in her garden so I blowed the horn and waved at her. I didn’t look back at her but a few seconds and then the road and that car was nowhere in sight. I looked further down the highway and they were moving on topping a hill. Those guys in the car must have thought I was blowing the horn at them, as that car took off like ‘Moody’s goose” and I never was able to catch up with it again. Whatever their destination was that day, I imagine they got there with plenty of time to spare.

Some months back while visiting a friend in the hospital, this person’s pastor came in the room and thought I was his daughter. Of course, you know that delighted me to no end. Stopped at KFC to get a chicken meal for my supper and on the ticket a senior discount had been applied. My feathers fell as you can imagine fast forward to that KFC a few weeks later and order some chicken and sides to go. Looked over the ticket as I was waiting for my meal and to my surprise no senior discount on it. My day really sparkled after that.

Hope everyone gets to be in their house to worship this week. God has blessed us all so let’s praise and worship Him for His greatness. He is our only hope in this sinful world. Tell others about Him with every opportunity that comes your way.

Please keep in prayer: the family of Van Nichols, Charlie Mai Daniel, John Carpenter, Edna Hooper, Billy Nokes, and Bernie Braswell.
