Hope you are doing fine and have had your cup of coffee for the day. On those mornings that are cool the coffee hits the spot, doesn't it? I sort of come to life with that first sip.
Spending some sleepless nights trying to remember the name of Tonto's horse on the Lone Ranger westerns. I know silver was the name of the Lone Ranger's horse. I found out today Scout was the name of Tonto's horse. By the way, I was just kidding about the sleepless nights.
Those cicadas just can't stay away. They are back but we are told they won't be as bad as the last time. People will probably be eating the nasty things again. How a person can put one of those awful looking insects in their mouth is beyond me. I guess if you were dying of hunger, you'd be glad to eat them to stay alive, or then again, you might die putting one of them in your mouth.
Moles are literally having a field day in our yard. I'll be putting bubble gum down in the ground where they have torn it up. I've done this the past few years and this has done the trick to get rid of them.
Thank goodness, we didn't have any severe weather around here on Friday night. We did get one and a half inches of rain. Our neighbors to the north in Kentucky were not so fortunate. I believe around nineteen people were killed from the tornadoes that came through. Homes and businesses were destroyed. Five people were killed in Missouri at last count from tornadoes.
Mowing across the road at "Aubrey's" mom and dad's place on Thursday. That saying about "nothing runs like a deere" proved to be true. I knew I had hit something as I was mowing and looked back to see the black snake that couldn't outrun my machine.
Mai Nell Melton treated her sister Gracie Bratcher with a ham and biscuit from Hardee's when visiting her one-day last week. That made my mouth water as we know how good Hardee's food is.
Ruth Brown and son, Jeff, are enjoying the remodeling done on their home and how beautiful her flowers are. Ann Warren and her family are doing ok. Sunday evening. I got to talk to Tony and Tracy Neal. They were doing fine.
In less than a week another "weather alert" day. May weather keeps surprising us. We got a whopping three inches of rain on Tuesday night from the front that moved through our neck of the woods. Severe weather with tornado and thunderstorm warnings were all around us. The high winds did not happen for us as were predicted. We were spared once again, and we are thankful.
Please keep the following people in your prayers: Dusty Johnson, Mary Melton, Diane Evans, Walter and Faye Ferrell, Rose Watts, Joe Gunter, Edna Hubler, Paul Young, Donald Ferrell, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the leaders of our country. and the families of Michael Prater and Rondall "Wormy" Parker in the loss of their dear loved ones.
Jimmy Hale and grandson, Jacob, doing well on Wednesday. Burley Bogle is doing well, also.

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace shall they add to thee. Proverbs 3: 1-2
