Somebody done me wrong

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” (Romans 1:20)
It has always amazed me to see how quickly the human race rushes to make excuse for themselves. If we aren't Christians.. we have explanations to avoid any guilt or responsibility.
It is the hypocrites fault. It is the church's fault. It is our parents fault, the devil's fault. It is never our own fault.
The same is true when we find ourselves in some old stinking earthly mess. It is true that sometimes people do things to us that we really are not to blame for in any way, but much more often we get ourselves into sorry situations by our own actions. Not one person in 10 will just speak the truth and say this is all my own fault.
Instead of that we begin to sing the old "somebody done me wrong song." I am hurting because somebody done me wrong.
My boss did me wrong.. My wife did me wrong, my family did me wrong.. The teacher did me wrong. "Somebody done me wrong."
Deny and shift the blame is our first inclination.
Adam and Eve first played that game in the garden, and all mankind has learned to play the same game.
Now tell me again who it is that's doing you wrong? Maybe they are, or maybe you are getting what you deserve.
Think it through carefully and make sure you are not just singing they done me wrong. Some who read this are probably not guilty, and some are guilty as charged. About every person in jail is innocent ... according to them... grin...  and I have noticed that those who are often most guilty will be the first to play the "blame game."
The worst sinner can sing a hymn or say the words “praise God.” One can even join the choir.. sing the song. Even claim everyone is off key except them. But that does not guarantee that their song is coming from the heart. It may only be words from the mouth outward.. grin.
In my younger, wilder, days I met a few people who were mighty rough and tough... around the mouth. But when the battle began.. they were no where to be found... grin. The above proverbs are the thoughts of a brain that is sometimes a little off center.. and a person whose wheel doesn't always make a full turn.. So take them for whatever they may be worth... smile.  And thanks for reading.
