Only that which is provided by God is truly free.. Such things as air and water.. We often decide not to accept the things as provided by God for free, for one reason or another..

For instance, this generation has chosen to buy water for convenience sake.. So we pay to have it piped into our house.. We have come to believe this is essential, but our parents never paid for a gallon of water in their whole life.. They walked to the spring and carried it back to the house in buckets.. Our generation has taken this one step further.. Now we choose to buy it by the bottle-more convenient... Sometimes we choose to have cool air piped into our house and car rather than just opening windows.. Feels so much better.. Most of us could walk where we needed to go.. Our ancestors did it for centuries, but convenience and speed has transformed us into a non-walking people-cars, trains, planes-anything but walking.

This can be taken a good bit further.. Many young people choose to move back into their parents homes because it seems free to live there, but there is a hidden price.. If they are furnishing our living they will demand more and more the right to control our actions and some freedom is lost.

We have become a nation very dependent on government support, with more and more people living with very little work on their part for self support.. We must realize that with every bit of government free support, the government will demand more and more the right to tell us how to live our life and little by little we become enslaved....

Now all that to bring us to the final and main point of this post. God has provided full salvation for free, but the more mankind decides not to accept the perfect free salvation and chooses to pursue some other course through life, the more and more they become ensnared in the ways of sin.

Now hear me correctly.. Man doesn't become more and more lost, but he become less and less free.. Why? Because he turns more and more of his life over to Satan, who wraps him tighter and tighter in the cords of sin like a spider wraps his victim tighter and tighter into his trap..

So after a while many discover that drugs alcohol, porn, lust, and greed have them tied so tight that even they come to realize they are no longer free.

Jesus paid for our freedom and there is no other way to be truly free.. Simple as that...
